Helen Grace Tumpane

TUMPANE, Helen Grace - Died peacefully on October 12, 2011 in her 97th year at the Houses of Providence. Helen was pre-deceased by her husband, columnist Frank Tumpane and is survived by her sister Kay (O'Flaherty) and brothers Wilf and Val DeLory. Dear mother of Denise (David) Howe and Michael (Rosemarie) Tumpane. Helen was a grandmother of five and great-grandma twice. A considerable portion of Helen's working life was spent in the service of the Catholic Church. For many years she was provincial secretary to the C.P.T.A. and was instrumental in organizing seminars for priests in the Diocese. Dear to her heart was family, her volunteer work with Ronald McDonald House and her love of travel. She also spearheaded the senior's group at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church where she was a member for over 50 years. Many thanks to the ever patient and caring group at Providence House with special mention to Kay, Shelley and Jeannie. Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 16 from 2-5 pm at Mount Pleasant Cemetery Visitation Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, (east gate entrance) Toronto, 416-485-5572. Funeral Mass on Monday, October 17 at 10 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 78 Clifton Road, Toronto. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
