<div itemprop="description">Heather Antoinette Barker-Roberts, of Mississauga, Ontario, sadly passed away at the age of 60 on June 2, 2014 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against cancer. Heather was born August 6, 1953 in Barbados to parents Vivian &ldquo;Tony&rdquo; Antonio Barker and Rita Elene Barker. <br /> <br />Heather is survived by her two loving children Amanda Aisha Roberts and Christopher Hasani Roberts, step-daughter Stacie Haynes-Roberts, and their father Edward Rudolph Roberts. She is also survived by her children-in-law Peter Grzelak (Amanda) and Brittany Pepper-Roberts (Christopher). She is fondly remembered as a devoted partner to Brian Mathlin, a sister to Roger Barker, Angela Hynam, Stephen Graham, and Tami Barker, and an Aunt to Ekundayo and Diallo-Seitu Leon-Barker, Maasai Barker, Matthew and Joshua Hynam, and Julia, Marlon, Randy, Trudy and Tiffany Graham. <br /> <br />Heather&rsquo;s death is preceded by her brother, Antonio Barker, her grandmother, Hortense &ldquo;Mami&rdquo; Thompson and her first cousin, David Thompson the late Prime Minister of Barbados. <br /> <br />Heather was a vibrant mother, sister, daughter, partner, and friend and leaves behind a legacy of happiness, laughter, and a spirit of giving. Heather spent many of her days at Portico Community Church singing in the choir and being a source of guidance and support for many. Heather was loved by many and admired by all for her bright smile, her loving personality, and her ability to make everyone feel special and loved. <br /> <br />At Heather&rsquo;s request, a Celebration of Life will be held at Portico Community Church on Saturday June 14, 2014 at 1:00pm. The family will be available for personal greetings from 11:00am-12:30pm at Portico. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to Ovarian Cancer Canada, The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation, and Angels Anonymous.
