Gwen passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62 at Surrey Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Lillian White and Ranald White, and by her beloved husband, Doug Armstrong.

She is lovingly remembered by her brother Greg (Melanie) White; her step mother Muriel White; her brother in law Drew (Susan) Armstrong; her nieces and nephews Kevin (Jess) White, Erika (Danny) Hudson, Sarah White, Kimberley (Nick) Brooker; Candis (David) Clark, Stuart (Victoria) Armstrong, Jared Armstrong; and dear friends Pat Gallagher, Kieran White, and Kayleigh White. She also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gwen grew up in Alberta surrounded by a close and vibrant family. Over the years, she also made homes in Toronto, Ontario, and in Langley, British Columbia. She had a deep love of travel and a lifelong passion for genealogy—spending countless hours searching through archives and records, always eager to help others discover their family histories.

Known for her sharp wit and infectious sense of humour, Gwen delighted in sharing memes and jokes with those she loved. Her generosity, loyalty, and spirited presence enriched the lives of everyone around her. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gwen will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on January 31, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alberta Genealogical Society.
