薛甘靜嫻夫人 Grace Sit
May 19, 1946 - February 6, 2014
Grace Ching-Han Sit passed away peacefully at home on February 6 2014.She was the beloved wife of Edward Chung-Chun Sit and cherished mother of Christina (Vernon), Marisa (Allen), Edward Jr. and Kim. "PoPo" will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Ethan, Elisha and Emmitt.
Grace was born in Hong Kong and was a school teacher before marrying Edward and immigrating to Canada and settling in Orillia, ON. As a mother, she provided her children with opportunities to pursue their dreams and taught them to have aim beyond boundaries. She was a caring and supportive friend, someone who was always there to listen and help. Grace was very active in the community and worked extensively in helping new immigrants adjust to life in Canada. Many of those "Aunties" and "Uncles" have become friends.
Grace used the strength, determination and humility that she is known for to fight her illness. Even when her cancer became metastatic she continued to fight and did not let it stop her from cherishing life's moments.
In lieu of flowers, Grace’s family has chosen to support the Canadian Cancer Society because novel drug, radiation and surgical treatments has allowed her to outlive life expectancy for her very rare cancer.
She will be greatly missed.
