In Loving Memory of Gordana Prekić (née Nedeljković)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gordana Prekić (née Nedeljković), who, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, passed away on October 12, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born in Niš, Yugoslavia, in 1960, Gordana grew up with a love for family, culture, and learning. At the age of 18, she met the love of her life, Goran, beginning a fruitful partnership. Together, they created a beautiful, close-knit family and an adventure-filled life.
In 1996, Gordana and Goran made the brave decision to move to Canada, putting down roots in Toronto, the city that would become their home.
A talented engineer by training, Gordana later found her calling in information technology, where she impressed everyone she worked with through her intelligence, dedication, and tenacity. She faced every challenge in life — whether professional, personal, or health-related — with remarkable strength and determination. Gordana was a devoted wife to Goran, a wonderful mother to Bojana, Nevena, and Andjelija, and a loving mother-in-law to Colin. She absolutely relished being “Nana” to Stefan, Milica, and Dejan, whose accomplishments — no matter how small — filled her with pride and joy.
Gordana was known by all as a fighter — never giving up, no matter how difficult the path. To her, all was possible. Her courage, optimism, and resilience were extraordinary, and she faced her illness with the same determination that defined her life.
She had a contagious zest for life. Life with her was always an adventure — vibrant, full of laughter, and never dull. She loved to travel and we have so many wonderful memories from countless trips we took together. She loved to celebrate every occasion, and bring people together around good food and good wine. Her warmth, strength, and generosity touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
We are heartbroken by her loss. Gordana was, and always will be, our example of strength, compassion, and unwavering love.
Her spirit lives on in her family, her friends, and in every cherished moment we remember.
May her memory be eternal
