Gobin Rambhajan
August 15, 1954 - April 26, 2015
Gobin Rambhajan, also known affectionately as Pinky, Prakash or Jim, was born August 15, 1954 in Couva, Trinidad to Sookdeo Rambhajan (deceased 2009) and Asanti Rambhajan. Growing up in Trinidad, Gobin enjoyed making slingshots and newspaper kites. A lover of music, he collected thousands of records and played them for hours at a time. An active person, Gobin was inspired by Bruce Lee and practiced Karate in his youth. An independent business owner, Gobin sold and serviced fire extinguishers for large companies. He would often be seen walking The Lakeshore with his pet dog Brownie, and later Jessie.
Gobin will be missed dearly by his mother, Asanti Rambhajan, his sisters Sonia (Lakha) Gopaul, Kaysar (Sheila) Ramadhin, Asha Imineo and Maltie Mahabir, as well as his nephews Jerome, Derek, Vernon, Denrick, Jason and Victor, and his nieces Sabrina, Simone and Alicia. Brother-in-law to Jainarine Ramadhin and Mahindra Mahabir. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends and colleagues.
