Glenna Marie Tisshaw (nee Lymburner).
July 9, 1927 - April 28, 2015

Born in Caistor, Ontario and always proud to have hailed from the Niagara Peninsula, Glenna was the only child of Red and Jessie Lymburner (nee Tice). A graduate of McGill University, and after a stint in Yugoslavia helping to rebuild the railroad, she married Keith in 1950 and became mother to Kevan (Nancy), Regan (John P) and Carol (John W). Nine years were lived in Georgetown, Guyana (then British Guiana) where she was involved in many volunteer endeavours, including the Theatre Guild, where lifelong friendships were forged. Returning to Toronto in 1967, her career took her from the Toronto archives, where she became Head of Archives, to opening the first public information unit at City Hall, and then to a judicial appointment to the Federal Immigration Appeal Board where she served until her retirement. Her passion for politics and unwavering belief in civic activism were lived out through her involvement with the Liberal party as well as any event or cause where she felt that all voices should be heard. She enjoyed many rich friendships in her life and cherished their loyalty and integrity. Her love and friendship with her grandchildren will ensure that her spirit and belief in decency, grace and global citizenship will be carried on.

A celebration of Glenna's life will be held on Saturday May 9th between 1.00 and 4.00 at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre, with a sharing of thoughts and memories at 1.45. Glenna did love colour so please dress as you feel you would like to.

Should you wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Save the Children Canada at www.savethechildren.ca.
