Gladys Mary Sweet passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Sherwood Court Nursing Home, surrounded by her daughters, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Ralph; her parents, William and Madeline; her sister; Eileen; and brothers, Lewis, Wilfred, Arthur, Raymond, Eldrick, and Alyer.

Gladys will be forever loved and missed by her son, Victor (predeceased by Wanda), and her daughters, Linda (Doug), Debbie (Richard), and Tina (Ross).

A loving grandmother to Jacqueline, Jason, Deryk, Kaitlyn, David, Nicole, Keith, Kurt, Leslie, and Robbie.

Gladys also leaves behind many cherished great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Gladys also leaves behind many loved Nieces and Nephews.

The family of Gladys Sweet would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Sherwood Court for the compassion, love, and support shown to her and her family over the past 5 years.

Gladys will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and the deep love for her family.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A burial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm, to 2:00pm at York Cemetery (160 Beecroft Rd. Toronto, ON M2N 5Z5).
