Gin Lem Hong
December 23, 1965 - January 11, 2016
After a long battle with cancer, Gin (Jim) Hong passed away on January 11, 2016 in Hamilton, ON at the age of 50. Gin is forever remembered by his devoted mom and dad; beloved daughter, Katie; wife, Cherry; brother, Sam; sister-in-law, Suk Yee; nephew, Joshua; niece, Jovita; along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
Gin immigrated to Canada from China when he was 17. Gin attended Riverdale Collegiate, Toronto and later studied Business Management at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, Toronto. He had worked for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for over 15 years.
The family would especially like to thank the medical team of the Juravinski Hospital for their constant, attentive treatment; staff at the palliative care unit of St. Peter's Hospital for their high-touch, low-tech caring approach and Elgin Mills Cemetery, Crematorium and Visitation Centre, for making the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to The Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation.
