In Loving Memory of Jordan
Following a courageous 15-month journey with cancer, Jordan passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of close friends and family.
Jordan lived life with a brilliant, creative mind and endless curiosity. A natural storyteller, he first found his passion behind the camera, spending six successful years with Bell Media (The Marilyn Denis Show, The Social, CTV Your Morning, and CP24). Always looking for ways to expand his skill set in new directions, he transitioned into editing, bringing his sharp eye to Rooster Post Production for four and a half years. Driven to push his creative boundaries even further, he moved to GUT Toronto, immersing himself deeply in the advertising world where he brought impactful campaigns to life for major clients around the world as an editor and motion designer.
Beyond his professional talents, Jordan was a vibrant force who lived to bring people together and embraced everything life had to offer. He possessed a rare, beautiful gift for connecting with anyone he met, effortlessly chatting about any topic under the sun. A passionate music lover and DJ, he was constantly rallying his favourite people to go to concerts, catch movies, try new food, share a cocktail, hit the slopes for snowboarding, or lace up for 5k–10k runs. He loved nothing more than playing games—whether video games, board games, ping pong, or beer pong—and hitting the road on his motorcycle. Even in his final days, Jordan’s trademark positivity, gentle humility, and kindness shone brightly. While he will be deeply missed, his family and friends take immense comfort in knowing his legacy of joy lives on.
Jordan’s bright light continues to shine through his loving family. He is survived by his devoted parents, Sara and bonus dad David Joris, John and bonus mom Kathy Giles. He remains a deeply loved brother to his siblings Kaleigh (Brett), Daniel (Lynn), Darren (Jeannine), Jessica (Cody), and Jake (Torie). The family extends their deepest gratitude for the overwhelming love, steady friendship, and support poured out to Jordan throughout his lifetime, and especially over these past 15 months.
In true Jordan fashion, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, family and friends are invited to gather to share food, drinks, and memories in honour of his vibrant spirit. The celebration of life will take place on Sunday August 16, 2026—which would have been Jordan's 35th birthday - between 1-3pm. All are welcome!
The family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Jordan’s honour to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation for all of the incredible work they are doing in cancer research.
