Beloved Husband of Molly (Greta) Fitzner, Brother to Keith of Prescott, ON. Dear Father of Son Wayne and Daughter Linda Simpson Stewart. Grandfather and much loved by Todd (Karen) Simpson of Brockville, Kristen Stewart (Neal) DaCosta of Brampton, and Erin Stewart (Jeff) Medeiros of Burlington. Great-Grandfather of Julia and Josh Simpson, and Kaitlyn and Lucas DaCosta. He will be sadly missed by nephew Lowell of Prescott and Lowells sons Tyler and Dillon. </p> <p> Sadly missed by Son-in-Law Terry Stewart and Daughter-in-Law Bonnie Simpson. </p> <p> Predeceased by loving Grandson Cory Everett Simpson of Cobourg, ON. </p> <p> Born in Smith Falls and brought up in Prescott, Ontario. He was the Son of the late Stanley Simpson and Edith Smith Simpson. Born in 1923 he was part of &quot;The Greatest Generation &quot;of Canadians having volunteered at age 17 with the Argyles and Southern Highlanders&nbsp;of the Canadian Army. Entered Europe on &quot;D Day&quot; and did his duty and valiant part of liberating the continent from the Nazis. </p> <p> After the war Gerry pursued a career as a professional transport driver with Husband Transport until his retirement in 1988. </p> <p> A private family was held at The Simple Alternative 1535 South Gateway Road, Mississauga, Ontario. </p> <p> Donations to the Heart and Stroke Fdn., or The Canadian Cancer Society are welcome.
