<div itemprop="description"> <p> <b> KOBAYASHI, George James </b> <br /> <br /> Peacefully at home on Saturday, June 2, 2012, in his 89th year.&nbsp; Predeceased by his wife Eiko (nee Nobuoka) and parents Shizu Ikemura and Suekichi Kobayashi.&nbsp; He will be sadly missed by his children Michi (Brian Harper), Nori (Rob Shiller) and Jim (Karen Yamada), his sister, Jean Sawa, brother-in-law, Yasu Nobuoka (Alice) and sister-in-law, Sumi Utsunomiya.&nbsp; Much loved by his four grandchildren, Ellen, Maddie, Emily, Eli and his nieces and nephews. </p> <p> George was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and had five siblings, Kiyoharu, Yoshiko, Jean, Fred and Ruth.&nbsp; During World War II the family left Vancouver and relocated to Montreal.&nbsp; A graduate of McGill&rsquo;s Engineering program in 1948, George&rsquo;s career as a Consulting Electrical Engineer spanned over five decades.&nbsp; He moved to Toronto in 1952 to open his own Consulting Engineering firms.&nbsp; He married Eiko Nobuoka in 1958 and had four children.&nbsp; Playing golf was his passion and watching baseball, especially the Blue Jays, his enjoyment.&nbsp; He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events, school plays, dance and music recitals.&nbsp; He enjoyed travelling and spending family vacations together.&nbsp; There wasn&rsquo;t any place to which George couldn&rsquo;t drive.&nbsp; He will be fondly remembered for his offbeat sense of humour and storytelling. </p> <p> The family would like to thank his wonderful caregivers, Claudette, Sonia, Ed and Rosalie and the staff at CCAC and St. Elizabeth Healthcare for their kind and compassionate care.&nbsp; A private family service has taken place with interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cremation Gardens.&nbsp; In lieu of koden, memorial donations to Momiji Health Care Society, Saint Elizabeth Health Care Foundation or McGill University Foundation would be appreciated.&nbsp; On-line condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.eTouch.ca. </p> </div>
