Shea: George Edward
George Edward Shea passed away peacefully on Saturday August 15th at The Teddington Retirement Residence in Toronto. Beloved husband of Ann Margaret Shea (predeceased); loving Father of Colleen (Jon Cheevers), Darleen (pre-deceased) (Ken Barratt), Kevin (Christine Sharp), Cathy (Murray Whittaker), Maureen (Wayne Parrish); devoted Grandfather to Mark (Amy), Katie (Miki), Colin (Veronique), Jamie , Meghan, Derek (Joanna), Kurt, Hayley (JP), Victoria, Taryn and Cayleigh. Proud Great Grandfather to Colton, Brooks, Jagger, Charlie, Theo, Stella, and Carter. Dear brother to Chauncey and sister Eileen (predeceased).
‎George, who never let a day of his 95 years pass without a kind or loving word guaranteed to bring a laugh or smile to someone else’s face, will best be remembered for his love of Family, especially his wife Ann of 68 years, his amazing practical jokes and his natural Irish talent when it came to singing and playing the piano. He was a major supporter of the Police Department, Mayor John Tory and our Great Country Canada. The family wishes to convey its sincere gratitude to the devoted, caring staff at The Teddington and to Dr. John Geleff, whose house calls to George and Ann were a wonderful source of comfort to them and all of us.
Donations ,the Family suggests, will best be made to the next homeless person you see on the street and simply say George wishes you the best! A Memorial Reception will be held on Tuesday September 15th from 7 to 9 PM at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Reception Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto [east gate entrance, north of St. Clair Ave., 416-485-5572].
