<div itemprop="description">  DALY, Geneviève Odile (nee Hubert) November 30 1920 - August 4 2012 DALY, Geneviève Daly passed away at age 91 on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Daughter of Louis Rene & Marcelle Eugenie Hubert, Geneviève attended Ecole des Ursulines in Paris, spent her summers in Cannes and as a teenager attended summer school in Dover to learn the King's English. At the onset of WWII, Geneviève was vacationing with friends in Evian. In the chaos of the times she returned home to find that her father had died of a sudden illness. Throughout the occupation Geneviève lived with her mother in Paris working as a legal secretary at her father's law firm. After liberation, she met the love of her life at a Club Capucines function attended by a number of allied troop personnel; in true Geneviève style, she was engaged after three dates! At the conclusion of the war, Geneviève emigrated to Canada to be with her fiancé Richard (Dick) Arthur Daly Jr. and entered local society with an enthusiastic breath of ''Joie de Vivre'' almost unheard of in Toronto during the 1940's. Dick and Geneviève were married for 62 years up to the time of Dick's passing in June 2008. After their marriage, Geneviève taught french at Windy Ridge (Institute of Child Studies) where she became affectionately known as ''Dame Daly''. Her unique educational style was featured in a prominent Toronto newspaper extolling her ability to engage young children in learning. She was a founding member of the ''club francaise'' a social group of French and Belgian ex-pat women who would alternate hosting luncheons in typical European tradition. She was a long standing member of the Toronto Ladies Club, York Club, the Granite Club and The Ahmic Lake Golf Club where she enjoyed bridge, tennis, and golf. Geneviève spent summers with her family at Ahmic Lake (Magnetawan). Like most French people, meal time was the centre of family life and she would often say that the Dalys enjoyed the best food on the lake - no surprise as her culinary skills were exceptional and greatly appreciated by her family and friends. Communication on the lake for a long time was through CB radio where Geneviève would participate with the handle ''French Fry''. Geneviève and Dick also enjoyed many winter vacations in Florida at the Hillsboro Club and later in Boca Grande at the Gasparilla Inn. Geneviève will be lovingly remembered by her son Patrick and his wife Sarah, her daughter Michelle and her husband Peter Morawetz. Much loved 'Granny' of grandchildren Barbara and her husband Dave Depew, Denis and his wife Sarah Zhang, Zoë and David Morawetz, and of great-grandchildren Alex, Jillian and her namesake, baby Anna Geneviève. Geneviève will also be missed by her extraordinary, long time companion and caregiver Sabrina Valencia, as well as a many other staff and the owners at IntegraCare. In addition, the family thanks the caring staff at Sunnybrook D4-Wing, all of whom were exceptionally compassionate through Genevieve's final days. The funeral service will be held on Friday August 10, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre (375 Mount Pleasant Road). Visitation will be at Claridges (12 Rean Drive) on Thursday August 9, 2012, 3:00 - 5:00 pm. A private family burial will be held in Napanee. </div>
