Frances Elizabeth Jenkinson
July 4, 1922 – February 18, 2013
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Frances Elizabeth Jenkinson on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Humber River Finch Hospital, aged 90 years. She is survived by all her children: Clephen, Lloyd, Winston, Phyllis, Ezra, Errol, Joan and Michael. She was one of 16 children, mother of 8 and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born in Westmoreland, Jamaica, moved to Lionel Town, Clarendon, Jamaica as a young adult where she met her late husband Beresford Jenkinson. Together they emigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She worked at the Windsor Arms Hotel until her retirement at age 70. Frances will be remembered for her sharp memory, gregarious spirit and tremendous gift for storytelling. These three qualities kept friends and family spellbound for years as she told stories from incidents in her life. Frances was a fabulous cook whose dining table was the hub of the family for many years. She had a generous spirit and shared what she had with friends and family back home as well as her adopted home in Canada.
