Fausto Moreno
March 4, 1944 – August 13, 2025

Fausto Moreno, a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, and gifted artist, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, at the age of 81 in Toronto, Ontario.

Born in Ecuador in 1944, Fausto built a rich and creative life as a professional photographer and studio owner, capturing the beauty and emotion of countless lives through his lens. In 1973, he emigrated to Canada to establish a new foundation for his family. Two years later, in 1975, he was reunited with his beloved wife, Mary, and their daughters, beginning a new chapter of their lives together.

A man of many talents, Fausto was as passionate in his garden and woodworking shop as he was behind the camera. He found joy in books, nature, and, most of all, in the warmth and closeness of his family. His quiet strength, sincerity, and deep devotion to those he loved defined the way he lived every day.

Fausto is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Moreno; his daughter Silvia Rocio Moreno-Ip and her husband Gordon Ip; his cherished grandsons, Alex and Nicolas Moreno-Ip; and his son-in-law Brian Ellis. He is predeceased by his beloved daughter Chela Ellis (née Moreno), whose memory he carried with him always.

Fausto’s life was a testament to the power of creativity, perseverance, and love. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he so dearly loved.

A service to honour Fausto’s life will be held at Elgin Mills Cemetery, surrounded by family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hospital for Sick Children, whose impact on the family was tremendous, or friends may choose to plant flowers in his memory—a simple gesture to honour the beauty he brought into the world.
