Faith Croxon
April 20, 1941 - December 21, 2013
FAITH CROXON (nee PALIARE)
It is with profound sadness that we announce Faith's passing on December 21, 2013 following a valiant four and a half year battle with lung cancer. She was 72.
She is survived by her beloved husband Noel, who she adored and who gave her endless love and support over their 27 years together, as well as boundless assistance during this last journey of her life. Also survived by her loving mother Hope, brother Chris, sister-in-law Eva Marszewski, and nieces Zoë and Julia, to whom she was a second mother. She was thrilled to be able to see both of them graduate and get established in their respective careers. Her one regret was that she wouldn’t “get to dance at their weddings”. As well, she is survived by Noel’s children Bruce (Debra Thier), Sheilagh (Jean Constantin), Michael (Sharon) and their many children.
She was predeceased by her father, Norman.
Faith was born on Easter Sunday, April 20, 1941 in Toronto, where she lived her entire life. She was a proud member of the Macedonian community. Macedonian food, culture and dance were in her DNA. She loved nothing more than leading an Oro at a wedding. Faith’s earlier years were spent in the family restaurant, the Normandy, where she worked tirelessly with her parents. In her later years, she was an avid golfer and traveler, and much enjoyed the many warm winters she and Noel spent with their dear friends in Florida. She was a member of both the Thornhill Golf & Country Club and TPC Prestancia in Sarasota, Florida.
She will be sadly missed by her many cousins, godchildren, family and friends whom she always showered with love and affection. For Faith, nothing was more important than family and friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Frances Shepherd, Diane Zawisza, and the entire lung cancer team at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Over the past four and a half years, they provided Faith with the very best medical care and attention, and ensured that she was comfortable in these last few weeks.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at MOUNT PLEASANT VISITATION CENTRE, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto (east gate entrance) 416-485-5572. Funeral service in the Chapel on Tuesday, December 24 at 1 pm with interment and reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Macedonian Place or the Lung Cancer Research Fund at the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Click on the Donations button at the bottom of this page.
