Emelita Hamdan Cox
January 5, 1951 - January 4, 2016
It is with profound sadness and sense of loss that we announce the passing of Emelita Hamdan-Cox, on Monday January 4th, 2016 at Toronto East General Hospital, at 64 years of age, after her brave and courageous battle with Cancer. She is the Loving Wife to Anthony Cox, Devoted Mother to Joseph Hamdan, Nurturing Grandmother to Kianna Hamdan, And a Loving sister to Delia Edralin and Christina Cruz.
Born in the Philippines to Abelardo Cruz and Martina De Leon Cruz, Emelita came to Canada in 1977. Emelita majored in Political Science. She left her career of being a teacher in Philippines to pursue a career in nursing to provide a better future for herself and for her family here in Canada. Emelita is a devout catholic, a strict disciplinarian and a natural born leader.
There will be generations of the Hamdan, Cruz and Edralin family here in Canada because of her love and sacrifice. I have lost a mother, heaven has gained an angel.
