Ellen (Eileen) Mary Dinneen
June 3, 1932 – March 30, 2026.

Born in Dublin, Ireland on June 3, 1932, Eileen passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 30, 2026, at Woods Park Retirement Living in Barrie, Ontario. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Maurice, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage, and whom she had dearly missed for the past eight years. Eileen was a devoted mother to Cathleen (George), Helen (Dave), Paul (Gail), Jennifer (Evan), and Gerard (Nicole), and a loving grandmother to Kevin (Lauren), Daniel (Deanne), Erica (Trevor), Colin (Carly), Gavin (Sarah), Mitchell, Erin, Matthew (Lindsay), and Zachary (Miranda). She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Katherine, Connor, Morrissey, Cillian, Chloe, Norah, Seamus, Max, Mason, and Easton. An Aunt to Sheila and Louise and family here in Canada. She is also fondly remembered and will be missed dearly by family and friends in Ireland and the UK.

Eileen was deeply devoted to her family and found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including reading, cooking, and listening to music. Known for her quiet strength and calm presence, she was the matriarch of the Dinneen family and a steady influence for generations. An avid reader and formidable trivia partner, she was especially happy during family moments surrounded by the love that she created.

Kindness, patience, generosity, and quiet leadership defined Eileen’s life. Her home was always welcoming, the kettle always on, and her love for family unwavering. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Woods Park Long-term care who took great care of Eileen in her final days.
