<div itemprop="description">STRUTHERS, Elizabeth (Beth) McVey <br />Mrs. R.D. &ldquo;Beth&rdquo; Struthers (nee McVey) passed away on June 17, 2014 from complications due to dementia. She was 86 years old. Beth was born in Winnipeg on October 16, 1927 to James Carson McVey and Hazel Wilhelmine Madill, and studied violin in New York City from the age of 16. She married the late R. Donald Struthers in 1952. She was one of the founding members of the North York Symphony Orchestra in which she played violin for many years. Beth and Donald were also founding members of the Donway Covenant United Church, and for many years she was in leadership with CGIT and missions ministries. Beth was loving, faithful and dedicated to her family and to the many people she served within the Don Mills community. She will be dearly missed. <br />Beth was predeceased in 1989 by her husband Donald. She is survived by her children, Carson (Donna), Cynthia (Keith), Robert (Lise) and Margaret (Gordon); her sister Lyn McVey; and 14 grandchildren. There will be a private interment following cremation. A memorial service will be held at the Donway Covenant United Church, 230 The Donway West, Don Mills, Ontario M3B 2V8 on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 3:00 pm, with a reception to follow.
