Elizabeth Ann Cowan
October 11, 1944 - January 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elizabeth Ann Cowan who left us peacefully while surrounded by her adoring family.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her first husband, Ian Cowan, and is survived by her husband, John Crowley. She was fortunate to share two loving marriages, each grounded in respect, kindness, and care.
She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Iona (Tom), and Adrian, and a cherished stepmother to John (Marg), Dan (Beverley), and Joseph. She was a proud and loving Nana to Liam, Olivia, Isaiah, Aaron, McKenzie, and Joe, each of whom brought her immense joy. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Sylvia, and is survived by her brother Philip (Rosemary), who reside in Scotland.
An effervescent presence, Elizabeth lit up every room she entered with her warm smile and open heart. She accepted everyone without judgment, regardless of circumstance, and was always ready to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and show genuine interest in the stories of others.
A faithful and active member of North Bramalea Presbyterian Church for over 30 years, she gave countless hours in service—supporting church activities and helping her community with quiet dedication and grace. A talented artist, she found joy and meaning in creative expression through painting, wood burning, collage, writing, and song. A genuine lover of all creatures great and small, she cherished all of her animal companions over the years – dogs, cats, birds, even insects found compassion in her gentle hands.
Elizabeth will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the light she brought into the lives of so many.
Celebration of Life service and reception will take place at North Bramalea Presbyterian Church. Thursday February 5th, 2026, commencing at 11:00 am.
