Eileen Muriel Warren
September 11, 1923 - March 27, 2016
Eileen Muriel Warren (nee Wylie), 92, of Toronto, Ontario, gently and peacefully slipped away in her sleep with family by her side on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016, after a long and fulfilling life.
Intelligent, independent, wise and empathetic, Eileen was born in Timmins, ON on September 11, 1923, to Blanche and William Wylie. She graduated as an Ontario Scholar at North Toronto Collegiate Institute and when war broke out she worked at Trans Canada Airlines. Eileen loved volunteering and could be found at Goodwill, Donwoods and the chancel guild at church. Christ Church Deer Park was a big part of her life and community in Toronto and Coboconk (Indian Point), where she spent her summers since the age of 23 and developed lifelong friends.
Her gift of connection was genuine and heartfelt. She was a mother to many. She had a great sense of humour and was a great sport, in games and in life. Eileen loved conversing about issues of the day and the books she read. She loved art, enjoyed healthy food, walking, reading and being social. She would often be found listening and providing wise counsel to many of us. She was a loving influence to her entire family and close friends. She was deeply loved.
Eileen was predeceased by her loving husband Donald Cameron, son John Cameron, and brother Bill Wylie. She is deeply missed by her daughters Karen Hutton and Susan Warren, sons-in-law Bob Hutton and Pat McGoey, her grandchildren Kerry and Sarah (Trey), Dan (Teva), Don, Fitz, Warren, her great-grandchildren Elena, Tosh, Greyson, Witt, and her dear sister Cay Good .
IN LIEU of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made to The Salvation Army Meighen Health Centre, which you can do online at this link: http://bit.ly/1q6kCZ5
A special thank you to the kind and attentive staff at the Isabel & Arthur Meighen Manor, who cared for and provided a loving home for Eileen and her family over the last four years.
Friends are invited to join the family in a service of celebration on SUNDAY APRIL 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the Isabel & Arthur Meighen Manor, in the Community Room, 155 Millwood Road (one block north of Davisville, east of Yonge). We invite those who would like to share a story remembering Eileen at that time.
