Be Still, My Soul

The family of Eiko Shibatani is deeply saddened to announce her passing, peacefully on July 6 2025 in her 100th year of life at Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit. She will be lovingly remembered by her spouse of 70 years, Kiyoshi “Keo” and their children, Amy (Allan Norsworthy), Robert and David (Connie). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Scott (Ed Casey) and David. Eiko began her life in Canada in 1957. In addition to caring for family, she volunteered for over 30 years at the Japanese Cultural Centre translating archival works together with her husband. She was a devoted member of her church community at Kingsway Baptist Church. A short service, followed by a Celebration of Life will take place Saturday July 19 2025 2 - 4 pm at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd, Toronto. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
