In memory of

Dr. John George Vozis

December 13, 1925 -  May 30, 2019

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Dr. John George Vozis on May 30, 2019 at Scarborough General Hospital, aged 93 years. Predeceased by his wife Anna and son George, brother Gregory and sisters-in-law Dimitrina and Vera. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Nedi Vozis-Penev, his son-in-law Penn Penev, granddaughters Stephanie, Janine and Gabriella and their partners, his brother Dr. Constantin Vozis, his nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and patients. John was a medical doctor in Bulgaria, immigrated to Canada in 1969 and after re-qualifying his credentials as a physician in 1975 opened his family practice on Danforth Avenue just east of Pape Avenue, until his retirement in December of 1995. He loved the sea and the boat cruises he planned with his brothers and their wives. He was fun-loving and easygoing– a fantastic table tennis competitor, spoke several languages, loved to watch soccer and baseball, dance, sing, read mystery novels, play backgammon & card games, and he always enjoyed a whiskey while watching a movie or cooking up a BBQ. In memory of John and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
