In Loving Memory of Dr. Hing Cheung Law 羅慶璋博士

October 11,1943 - August 4 2026

Dr. Hing Cheung Law will be remembered for his kind, considerate, and fun-loving spirit, and for the quiet way he was always willing to help others. His life was marked by excellence, humility, devotion to family, and a deep generosity of heart.

Early Life and Education
Born in Hong Kong to loving parents, Hing was the eldest of four siblings. As the eldest brother to Hing Chung, Hing Yee Lena, and Hing Yim, he set a meaningful example with consistent fortitude. From an early age, he was dedicated to his studies. He was awarded government scholarships, and received the Dux Medal at King’s College for being the most distinguished student of the school. His name is engraved on the school building. He went on to graduate from the University of Hong Kong and later earned his Ph.D. from the University of Manitoba.

Career, Research, and Teaching
He was a principal scientist in aerospace, contributing his knowledge and expertise to research, industry, and national defence. He held high-level security clearance, and because much of his work remains classified, the full extent of its impact may never be publicly known. Later in life, he devoted much of his energy to educating the next generation, teaching and guiding others with patience, generosity, and care.

A Loving Husband and Father
Hing was a loving husband and devoted father. He was married to Dr. Nelly Ng, M.D., and was the proud father of Zabrina Law. He stood faithfully by his wife’s side, supporting the charitable causes close to her heart, and offered his encouragement with quiet strength and unwavering care.

Remembering His Legacy
Dr. Law approached life with curiosity, humility, and a wonderful sense of humour. He could move effortlessly from discussing complex scientific ideas to sharing a joke that filled the room with laughter. In his later years, he found great joy in teaching and mentoring, generously sharing his knowledge with students both inside and outside the classroom. He will be remembered as much for the smile he brought to others as for the wisdom he shared.

羅慶璋博士一生待人真誠、謙厚善良，性格開朗幽默，樂於助人。他為人低調內斂，卻處處流露對家人、朋友及學生的關愛。他的一生充分體現了追求卓越的精神、謙遜厚道的品格、對家庭深摯的愛,以及無私奉獻的高尚情操。


早年生活與教育
羅博士出生於香港，在充滿關愛的家庭中成長，是家中四兄弟妹中的長兄。作為慶琮、慶沂Lena 及慶琰的大哥，他以堅毅、勤奮和責任感為弟妹樹立榜樣。

自幼勤奮好學，成績優異，曾獲政府獎學金，並於英皇書院（King's College）榮獲 Dux Medal（全校最佳學生獎），其名字至今仍鐫刻於校內紀念牌上。其後畢業於香港大學，並於加拿大曼尼托巴大學取得博士學位。


科研事業與教育工作
羅博士畢生致力於航空航天科研，曾擔任首席科學家（Principal Scientist），在科研、工業及國防等領域貢獻良多。他持有最高級別的保安許可；由於其大部分研究屬於保密項目，其工作的深遠影響，至今仍未能完全為外界所知。

在事業後期，他將滿腔熱誠投入教育工作，悉心培育年輕一代，以耐心、慷慨和關懷啟發學生，並樂於義務輔導有需要的人,深信知識應予他人分享。

摯愛的丈夫與父親
羅博士是深情體貼的丈夫，慈愛盡責的父親。他與妻子吳永光醫生（Dr. Nelly Ng）鶼鰈情深，育有愛女羅宇楹（Zabrina Law）。

他多年來始終以堅定而深厚的愛，默默支持妻子熱心義務推動的慈善事業，並以體貼入微的關懷與無言的守護，陪伴家人走過人生不同階段。


永遠懷念
羅博士一生對世界抱持廣博而持久的求知精神，待人謙遜有禮，處事真誠穩重，並兼具風趣幽默的個性。他既能深入探討艱深的科學理論，亦能以睿智的談吐與幽默的言語，一句妙語、一個笑話為身邊的人帶來歡笑與溫暖。晚年最大的喜悅之一，是繼續教學和培育後輩。他不僅在課堂上循循善誘，啟迪學生，也樂於在課餘時間義務指導後輩，毫無保留地分享知識與經驗。

他留給世人的，不僅是卓越的學術成就，更是他溫暖的笑容、深邃的智慧、仁厚善良的品格，以及他生命所帶來的深遠影響。
