Doreen Tak-Ching Chung (née Ho)
1932 – 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doreen Tak-Ching Chung (née Ho) on October 17, 2025, in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 93.

Born in Hong Kong in 1932, Doreen worked as a stenographer for several companies before immigrating to Canada, where she settled in Hamilton, Ontario. She was employed at The Right House in the accounting department before joining Revenue Canada, where she worked for 20 years until her retirement. Doreen loved to travel, and throughout her life she enjoyed exploring new places and spending time with family and friends on her journeys.

Doreen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Willie Chung (1998) and will be lovingly remembered by her sons Michael Chung and Leonard (Barbara) Chung; her grandchildren Katrina, Natalie, and Gregory; and her great-grandchild Brayden Peace. She is also survived by her brother Samuel (Patricia) Ho and was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.

Doreen lived a full and active life. She was deeply involved in her community and enjoyed tai chi, mahjong, line dancing, and spending time with those she cherished. Her kindness, gentle humor, and warm spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Doreen will be remembered for her strength, grace, and generosity, and for the love she shared with family and friends.

A celebration of Doreen’s life will be held at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, North York.

Private cremation on October 29th before inurnment at Duffin Meadows Cemetery in Pickering Ontario.
