<div itemprop="description">Donald Evans McGregor <br /> 1917-2014 <br /> It is with great sadness that the <br />family of Donald McGregor <br />acknowledges his death on <br />Tuesday, February 18 in his 97th <br />year. Predeceased by his <br />beloved wives Ruth in 1987 and <br />Margaret (Jimmy) in 2012 <br />Loving father to Keith (Janet), <br />Chris (Doug), Jeanie, Mary <br />(Peter), stepfather to John <br />(Margaret), Frank (Bettieanne), <br />Sarah, predeceased by Gordon <br />(Heather). He was adored by his <br />many grandchildren/step <br />grandchildren and great- <br />grandchildren/step great- <br />grandchildren, nieces and <br />nephews. Don was born and <br />raised in Windsor Ontario, son of <br />William Donald McGregor and <br />Lillian Evans, dear brother to <br />predeceased, Muriel Knight <br />(Gordon). As an electrical <br />engineer, he served as an officer <br />in the Canadian Navy and later <br />founded the consulting firm of <br />McGregor and Associates. Don <br />was an avid golfer, watercolour <br />artist and nature lover. He loved <br />people and a good conversation <br />He was exceptional at staying <br />connected to family members of <br />all generations. Heartfelt thanks <br />to Sarah Pryce-Phillips for the <br />steadfast love and care she <br />provided to both Jimmy and <br />Don in their later years, allowing <br />them to live in their own home <br />Very special thanks to the staff <br />of K2 East in the Veterans Wing <br />at Sunnybrook for their skillful, <br />tender care and support during <br />this last year of Don's life. Family <br />and friends will be received at <br />the Mount Pleasant Cemetery <br />Visitation Centre, 375 Mount <br />Pleasant Road, Toronto (east <br />gate entrance, north of St. Clair <br />Avenue, 416-485-5572) on <br />Sunday, February 23, 2014 <br />starting at 1:00 p.m., with a <br />service to follow in the chapel at <br />2:00 p.m. Interment with a <br />reception to follow at Mt <br />Pleasant.
