Donald Edward Smith
March 20, 1934 - January 2, 2015
SMITH, Donald Edward –
Passed away quietly at home, early on January 2nd, 2015 after a brave fight with cancer. Loving husband of Betty (Clements), proud father of Beverley (Ken), Barbara and Neil, devoted Grandpa of Chloe and Zachary, brother of Douglas and the late Joan (Turnham) and Margaret (Perrett). Born in Montreal in 1934, Don cherished his time with family and his model trains, and was most at home outdoors - in the garden, on the golf course, canoeing in Algonquin Park, or hiking in Borrego Springs. Don retired in 1994 from a lifelong career at Alcan. Per Don’s wishes, a private cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral. Special thanks to Dr. Julian Kho for his ongoing kindness, care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton would be greatly appreciated by the family.
