DIETRICH CHRISTIAN MOENKE
December 24, 1929 - August 17, 2012
Forever in Our Hearts
Forever in Our Soul
How can you put into words
the impact you had on us all?
You were the captain of our ship,
the cushion for our fall
You approached life and death on your own terms
Inspiring us each step of the way
You will live on in each of us
-- with us at every sunset and at the break of each new day
You will be with us in our laughter,
our sorrow and our tears
in our smiles, in our hopes and dreams,
in the triumphs of upcoming years
Family first, family forever
Our hearts will continue to beat as one
- now in spirit as in life
Our bond will never be broken,
We are your friends, your family,
your daughters and your wife
One day we will see you in the sunshine
and walk together, again,
as a family hand-in-hand
where there is no sorrow, no pain, no illness,
only love
-- that you will continue to guide us with in our lives, in our hearts and in our souls
forever
We love you, Bubi, my darling husband
We love you, Daddy
We love you, Vati
We love you, Opi
We love you, Onkel Dieter
We love you, Bismark
We love you, Sexy Papa
We love you, Mr. Moenke
We love you, Friend
Dietrich Christian Moenke passed away peacefully in his sleep at York Central Hospital in Richmond Hill after an unwavering, brave fight against cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Helga Lissy Moenke (geb. Lauterbach), his two daughters, Birgit Regina Moenke and Sabine Andrea Jarvis (geb. Moenke) and "favourite son-in-law," Ian Douglas Jarvis. He will forever remain the proud Opi of his grandchildren, Stephanie Andrea Jarvis, James Douglas Jarvis and Reeve Christian Jarvis. Dietrich, the eldest son of Ruth (geb. Hoehne) and Emil Moenke, is survived by his sisters, Helga Dirnberger (geb. Moenke), brother-in-law, Joseph Dirnberger, Monika Groth (geb. Moenke), and brother-in-law, Peter Groth. Dietrich will once again be joining his parents and his younger brother, Klaus Peter Moenke, survived by wife, Liz Moenke (geb. McKay) in the sunshine. Only time separates us. Our love for you continues without end...
