Delfina “Delfy” Vega

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Delfina “Delfy” at her home on July 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Venezuela, Delfy was one of nine children of Maria Agripina and Jose Gregorio. In 1990, she made Canada her home, bringing with her a warmth, strength, and devotion to family that would touch the lives of everyone around her. Lovingly regarded as the head of her family in Canada, Delfy was a source of guidance, comfort, and unwavering love.

She leaves behind her beloved children, Dionis and Delnnis, and her cherished daughter-in-law, Carolina. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Daniela, Alejandra, German, Yvonne, and Andres, and was overjoyed to become a great-grandmother to Roma, who brought her immense happiness. She is also survived by her only remaining sister, Anasaria, as well as her beloved niece Anita, whom she considered her third child, and her nephew José (“Pepe”). She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends in Venezuela, Canada, and around the world.

Delfy will be deeply missed by her life partner and the father of her children, Dionis Sr., who shared 63 years of love, companionship, and memories with her, remaining faithfully by her side until her final day.

Delfy was a loving, active, and caring woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading, taking long walks, shopping, decorating her home, and, above all, spending time with and caring for her grandchildren. Her generous spirit, boundless love, and dedication to her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave and the memories she created will continue to live on in the lives of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
