<div itemprop="description">It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jo&atilde;o de Freitas on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga, aged 79 years, following complications from a stroke. He leaves behind his beloved wife Enes Dora (Jardim) de Freitas, brothers Jose Fernando de Freitas (Maria Amalia de Freitas) and Antonio Arnaldo de Freitas (Encarna&ccedil;&atilde;o de Freitas), sister Maria Cristina de Abreu and sister-in-law Olga Jardim. He dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all his nieces and nephews and their children. He immigrated to Canada from Madeira, Portugal in 1959 and worked for Nestle. Jo&atilde;o loved working with his family on home renovations and projects, and enjoyed travelling&nbsp;back to Portugal and to the family condo in Florida. In memory of Jo&atilde;o and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Trillium Health Centre.</div>
