It is with great sadness that the family of David Wai-Kwong Ho announce his passing on February 5, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born in 1948 in Hong Kong, David was one of six siblings—the second of five brothers (Steven, James, Josiah, and Alfred) and one sister, Amy. Opportunities to study in Canada brought him to Lakehead University and later to the University of Toronto, where he completed his studies in Mechanical Engineering.
Through friends, David met Judeanna, and they eventually fell in love and were married in Toronto in the fall of 1973. David and Judeanna welcomed their son, Kevin, and their daughter, Helen. During the challenging economic times of the early 1980s, David experienced a personal crisis that led him to the Christian faith—a faith that went on to shape his family and guide their lives for decades to come.
David was a devoted husband to Judeanna, lovingly caring for her during her times of illness. In turn, Judeanna gave him strength through his hospitalizations and during the years when he was severely weakened by myositis.
Throughout January 2026, while Judeanna was away on vacation, David proved to himself that he could live independently. Blessed with meaningful visits from his children and friends, and capped off with celebrations for his 78th birthday, he was very upbeat and had a renewed motivation to rebuild his strength so that he could travel again with his wife.
David will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Judeanna; his son, Kevin, and daughter-in-law, Claudia; his daughter, Helen, and son-in-law, Jeffrey; and his cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Chiara, Carys, Jacoby and Jordan, whose lives were enriched by his love, guidance, and quiet strength.
In lieu of flowers and wreaths, the family kindly requests that remembrances be made in the form of contribution to Grace Chinese Gospel Church of North York, Scarborough Health Network Foundation, St Michael's Hospital Foundation, or Myositis Canada. David cared deeply for his church, myositis impacted his physical health significantly over the last decade and the staff at two hospitals took care of him when he struggled with his heath.
