Darrell Edward Bond
September 26, 1955 - March 28, 2026
Darrell Edward Bond, age 70, passed peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Mackenzie Health in Vaughan, Ontario. Known for his intellect, artistic talent, and unwavering discipline, Darrell leaves behind a legacy defined by deep commitment to family and numerous passions.
Born in Toronto and raised in Richmond Hill, he attended Bayview Secondary School before pursuing visual arts at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD). His education led him to a distinguished thirty-plus year career with Blacks Photography, where his creativity and problem-solving abilities shone and he frequently tapped into his expertise in statistics, mathematics, and computer programming to devise creative solutions.
Beyond his work, Darrell was purposeful and driven. He earned a black belt in Karate, reflecting his perseverance and dedication. A keen marksman and community leader, he formerly served as the President of the Sharon Gun Club, where he made many great friendships. Whether photographing moments or practicing marksmanship, Darrell brought a calm, thoughtful approach and sharp attention to detail.
In recent years, Darrell lived in Cannington, finding joy in its close-knit community.
He was the beloved husband of Victoria Birch, with whom he shared a great love and partnership. Darrell was a devoted father to Jeff Bond (Anna), Bryan Bond (Devon), and Kristen Harrison (John), and delighted in his role as cherished grandfather to James, Evelyn, Jemma, Elijah, and Connor. He is now reunited with his parents, Donald and Shirley Bond, who predeceased him.
