GLENESK, Darlene Marie (nee Kallio)
In loving memory of Darlene Glenesk. It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Darlene after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 53.
Cherished mother to daughter Miranda and son Julian both of Toronto. To know Dar, is to understand her incredible attachment to her children. They are unquestionably her pride and joy. Nothing brought her more joy than sharing in the successes and triumphs of Miranda and Julian.
Beloved daughter of Jack & Lea Kallio of Sudbury and dear sister of Susan (Richard) Bell; Bonnie (George) McNabb; Gail Kallio; Jack (Jo-Anne) Kallio and Karen (Ed) Bulfon. Sadly, Darlene was predeceased by her mother and sisters Gail and Susan.
Darlene was an avid traveler and was thrilled when roaming European country sides, exploring castles and museums. When not on a special European trek, Dar spent countless hours at the cherished family camp in Sudbury. Her entire family, will fondly remember all the summer get-togethers, frolicking in the lake, blueberry picking adventures, Finnish saunas and marathon Monopoly games. As a strong advocate for wellness, Dar found great peace in her dedication to yoga and never turned down the chance to swim.
A caring and tender mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, friend and colleague - Darlene will be sorely missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Princess Margaret and Mount Sinai for their respectful care.
The family will receive friends at Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre on Friday, February 28. Located at 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, Ontario, M4T2V8.
www.mountpleasantgroup.com
Visitation at 12:00 PM, Service at 1:00 PM and Reception from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Mount Sinai Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society in Darlene’s memory would be appreciated.
