It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darlene DeCaprio; the youngest daughter of the late Ralph and Irene DeCaprio; beloved mother of Louise, dearest sister to Linda Prentice (John Sinnott), Wendy Furyk (Ken Johnson) and David DeCaprio (Wendy Moss), and special grandmother to Audrey and Emily.

Darlene’s main focus in life was being the best mother and grandmother that she could be and loved them with the ferocity of a mother bear. Darlene also leaves behind her nieces and nephews Lisa (Andrew), Gregory (Suzanne); Robert (Sylvia), Cheryl, Michael and Ashleigh (Trevor) as well as six great nieces and nephews Griffin, Callum, Ava, Ethan, Grace and Hailey. Darlene also had a special place in her heart for her fur-babies Huxley and Skunk.

Darlene made a difference in the lives of so many people. We will all cherish the memories we hold of her in our hearts. She will be remembered for her empathetic nature, strength, generosity, hard work, infectious laughter, feistiness and of course her salty sense of humour.

A Celebration of Darlene's Life is planned for the spring with details being provided closer to the date.

We would like to give a special thank you to the Cancer and ICU Wards of Oakville Trafalgar Hospital. In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or Sick Children’s Hospital in her memory.
