Daniel Kenneth Sunley
November 17, 1961 - February 24, 2026
It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Dan Sunley on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at his home in Mississauga.
Unfortunately, Dan experienced a series of serious health issues over the past 15 years. During that time, there were many occasions where he struggled mightily, but he soldiered on and made the best of each tough situation he faced. Ultimately, a combination of these health conditions resulted in his sudden passing.
Dan is survived by his mother, Louise, his brother Bruce (and Pat), nephew Brian (and Katie) and great-niece Madeline, and niece Danielle. He was pre-deceased by his father, Murray (2022).
Although Dan never married or met his soul mate, he had a large circle of friends, extended family and co-workers that he was loyal to and passionately maintained in his life until the very end. What was most important to Dan was that all his friends stayed connected. It wasn’t especially about the friends keeping close to him, but rather, all the friends stayed close to each other.
He will be remembered as a passionate Boston Bruins fan (we tried very hard not to hold this against him), for his quirky sense of humour, and his steel trap memory.
He spent the vast majority of his working life in the electrical equipment supply industry, which he was very passionate about. Employers and customers alike relied upon his expertise and judgement for which he was renowned during his entire working life and even after he could no longer work.
Dan was loved by both his family and his long list of friends, and he will be greatly missed.

Family and Friends will be received at THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE- MISSISSAUGA 1535 South Gateway Road (at Dixie Road, two lights south of Eglinton) 905-602-1580 on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, for a time of visitation from 10 – 11 a.m. A Celebration of Dan’s life will follow at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation the Kidney Foundation of Canada, or the charity of your choice, in his honour.
