Clyde Clifford Bishop
January 15 1926 - October 19 2015
Clyde Dear / Dad / Poppa / Papa/ Clyde Boy/ Juney/ Junior
Passed away peacefully in the arms of his beloved wife Bertha of 65 years and with his son Jay and family by his side; hand in hand, at his last short stay “Hotel”, the Orangeville Headwaters Health Care Centre.
Clyde was predeceased by his mother and father Marguerite and Clarence Bishop of Kentville, Nova Scotia and his brothers, Boyd (Bun) Bishop and Ronald (Budd) Bishop. He lost two of his closest friends, Al Stewart and Dan Sanford too early, as well as Jay’s first wife, Jewel. Clyde’s first son Brian Eugene passed suddenly in 2000. This was a life changing event for him, Bea and family. A phone call never ended without a "love you" had started in our family. Clyde Dear / Dad / Poppa / Papa/ Clyde Boy will be deeply missed by his wife Bertha, son Brian's wife Kim , granddaughter Virginia (Dave), great granddaughters Sabine and Nella, granddaughter Jocelyn; son Peter (Jan), grandson David (Kelly) great grandchildren Ryann and Callan, granddaughter Kelly; son Jay (Rena), granddaughters Lauren , Tanya, Tara Sue, Madison (great grandson Roman), and his grandson Troy; daughter Suzy and granddaughter Isabel.
Clyde grew up in Nova Scotia and started working at an early age at the train station and then served in the CANADIAN AIR FORCE, Squadron Bomber Command in WWII. After returning from the war and getting his carpentry and welding papers and a short work term in northern mines of Sudbury, he moved to Toronto and brought the love of his life Bertha (Bea) Harvie from Kingsport, N.S. and soon after started raising a family surrounded by fun and great friends. Through the many years of happy and joyful living at ‘31 Hardwick’ in Etobicoke, Clyde and Bea raised a fun loving family and enjoyed good times and all that life had to offer. Clyde greeted all with a firm handshake a smile, a laugh, and a welcoming home. After 57 years at Hardwick, Bea and Clyde moved to a nice cozy spot in Bolton where Bea still resides.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Clyde’s favourite charity, Cystic Fibrosis-Canada or a charity of your choice.
Clyde will be forever in our hearts, thoughts and prayers
