In memory of

Claudio Guglielmi

July 20, 1934 -  July 4, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Claudio Guglielmi age 90, who peacefully left us after a courageous battle with cancer on July 4, 2025. Claudio was born on July 20, 1934, in his much-loved city Trieste, Italy. At 30 years of age, he left Trieste for Canada with his wife and 2-year daughter Barbara. Even though he spent the next 60 years of his life in Canada alongside his wife, children and grandchildren he was always known to have one leg here and one leg in Trieste. Together they created a beautiful life for their family always full love and with so many adventures.
He was known for his love of life, warmth, compassion, kindness and dedication to his beloved family that he loved more than anything in this world.
Claudio loved to travel around the world, but his fondest memories were the extended months he spent in his beloved Trieste alongside his wife and family.
Claudio was beloved husband of Diana with who he shared more than 67 wonderful, full of love years of marriage. Loving father to Barbara (Spiro) Andy (Mimi). His grandchildren were his world and time spent with Samantha, Alexander (Parmida), Logan, Beckham and Lennon was his greatest joy. Claudio will forever be missed by all his immediate and extended family and friends.
Thank you, Papa, Nonno for all the gifts of life that you gave us and for shaping us to be the people we are. ‘Caio ga fini el suo ultimo viaggio’

With deep sorrow, I say goodbye to a beloved person whose presence was a true gift in our lives. He was full of joy and life, always carrying with him that wonderful, slightly wild spirit from Trieste — a spark that made every moment with him special.

I’ll never forget the time he wore his wife’s nightgown just to make us all laugh — and laugh we did, together, with tears in our eyes. That moment, like so many others, was pure him: playful, generous, and full of heart.
His love for both Trieste and Greece ran deep, just like his warmth and his ability to bring people together. I feel truly lucky to have known him. His children, his grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to have met him were truly blessed.
He will live on in our laughter, in our memories, and in the joy he left behind.
Ciao, nostro caro matto triestino.
