Clare was born in Goa. She was the first born of several children of Maria and Dr. Cyril Oliveira. She lived a life characterized by remarkable resilience, deep kindness, and an unwavering dedication to her younger siblings. Clare grew up in Goa under the care of her grandfather whom she adored. She later moved to Tanga where she met the love of her life.

Known for her radiant love and her ability to foster warmth wherever she went, Clare’s greatest joy was found in feeding her family with traditional foods she enjoyed while growing up. She possessed a quiet strength that sustained her through life’s challenges and a generosity of spirit that touched countless individuals. Her memory will forever be illuminated by the love she gave so freely to those around her.

Clare is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry, and younger siblings Tessie and Violet. She is survived by the rest of her siblings, Cissy, Tony, Dolly and Sonny.

She leaves behind a legacy carried on by her children, Lincoln (Elaine), Lisette (Kevin), Luanna (Derrick) and Lola. She was lucky to have attended the weddings of her grandchildren, Alex (Gunit) and Emmy (Tim) and adored her great-grandsons Arjun and Aryan who visited her frequently. She will be deeply missed by a wide circle of extended family, lifelong friends, and community members they befriended at many of the events they attended as a couple before Larry's passing in 2016.
