Mr. Chuang Lee was born on November 3, 1922 in Hongdong County, Shanxi Province, China. His biological mother passed away during childbirth. His father worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was often away from home. He was raised by his loving grandmother and stepmother. He later worked as an officer for the Ministry of Defence. In 1946, he married Yu Lien Ho at a church in Shaanxi Province. His wife was a devout Christian, and it was through her and her family that he came to know and put his faith in Jesus. In 1949, he moved to Taiwan with his wife and their daughter Nancy. By God's grace, they had 3 more children while living in Taiwan, sons Gary, David, and James. Life was not easy, but it was full of joy.
In 1984, Chuang Lee immigrated to Canada with his wife and settled in Toronto, where they enjoyed the pleasures of raising their grandchildren, travelling, attending church, and helping friends and family. When his wife fell ill and was hospitalized for nine years, he braved wind, rain, and snow, to care for her every day from morning to night, until she passed away. Since then, he has lived independently; he learned how to cook and regularly made his signature dishes for his grandchildren. He exuded joy and vitality, and he was blessed by God with good health.
He happily celebrated his 103rd birthday this past December. Our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Chuang Lee left us peacefully on January 17, 2026, surrounded by family and love. We give thanks to God that his prayers were answered; he passed away peacefully at home without pain or discomfort.
Chuang Lee will be remembered for his unshakeable faith and the love he gave to all who knew him. We will miss him deeply, but we know he is with our Lord in heaven.
