Christian "Chris" Koussis
March 13, 1962 - October 13, 2015
Dusseldorf Germany — Christian Koussis, 53, passed away suddenly Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Brampton Civic Hospital, Brampton Ontario. He leaves his wife Marline Wilmot, Mother-in-law Pauline and his pet cat Figaro and dog Afro.
Born in Dusseldorf Germany, he was the loving son of Segria Lindner. After the passing of his father at the age of 5, he and his mother started on their journey from Scarborough and eventually settled in Manitoulin Island.
Christian was a devoted son who cared deeply for his mother. She passed away on January, 5 2014 on Manitoulin Island, peacefully in her sleep. He spoke fondly of her, his true friend, and how they often reminisced about good times, and the happy moments they shared together. They always made sure that a good bottle of red wine was on hand as they enjoyed each other’s company.
Christian had a passion for writing, traveling and fine wines. He was a lover of life and was devoted to his family as he shared his last days enjoying a wonderful Thanksgiving with them. He was a true and unfaltering friend to all, and was the type of man who would give you the shirt off of his back. He is surely one of God's most precious souls.
Christian expressed to those close to him that the day he married his wife Marline, was one of the happiest days of his life, as they were surrounded by friends and family.
Christian was Marline’s rock, throughout her difficult time with her treatment in the hospital. He and his mother-in-law Pauline helped her out of her darkest moments, and lifted her up when she needed the support.
Christian was very spiritual, he believed love could conquer all. Here is a quote that he would often refer to, when speaking about life and loving one another:
Love is not based on romance, candle light dinners and walks along the beach. In fact, it’s based on respect, compromise, care and trust.
Love does not need a reason. Pure love will come from the heart without reason and it’ll stay every season.
Love is not who you can see yourself with. It is who you can’t see yourself without.
It’s so easy to fall in love but hard to find someone who will catch you.
Love is a language spoken by everyone but understood only by the heart.
Everybody knows how to love but few people know how to stay in love with one person forever.
It takes a strong heart to LOVE but it takes an even stronger heart to LOVE after its been BROKEN.
I love it when I see old couples in love because it makes me believe that TRUE LOVE does exist.
Once you care about a person, it’s impossible to be logical about them anymore.
This is a celebration of Christian’s life, and how he blessed so many with his presence. Thank you for remembering a loving husband, a true and genuine friend to all.
Thank you for helping us celebrate and remember Christian's Sunset, October 13, 2015.
God Bless
