Chris Dervenis passed away suddenly at his home in Penetanguishene, at the age of 68.
He will be deeply missed by his sister Freda (Joe), niece Stacy, nephew Sean (Adriana) (great nephew James), along with cousins and friends.
Chris was born and raised in Toronto where he resided for most of his life.
After graduating from high school at Sir John A. Macdonald, he attended Western University where he majored in Business. His career took him into the Restaurant business and then the Insurance business.
A few of his many pastimes throughout the years consisted of watching sports (the avid sports fan that he was) especially his Maple Leafs! He loved to sing and impersonate one of his all-time favourite singers, Elvis Presley, play his guitar and keyboard, fish, play billiards and ball hockey.
After his aging father passed away, whom Chris looked after and took care of, he moved to the quieter and serene waterfront lifestyle of Penetanguishene in mid 2021 and fell in love with the town and the people.
He will be forever missed and remembered for his generous heart, great sense of humour & wit, and honest nature.
A cremation has taken place. He will be buried in Toronto with his parents at Pine Hills Cemetery.
The family will honour Chris with a burial at Pine Hills Cemetery on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
From one of your many favourite Elvis Presley songs, we sing to you, Chris…
“Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind”
“Memories, sweetened through the ages just like wine”
“Quiet thoughts come floating down”
“And settle softly to the ground”
“Like gold of autumn leaves around my feet”
“I touch them and they burst apart with sweet memories”
“Sweet Memories”
