Ching Yun "Tony" Ngan, passed away peacefully on April 8th, 2026, surrounded by his family at the age of 90. He was the beloved son of father, "Lai Fong Ngan" (predeceased) and his mother, "Chang Mei Hou" (predeceased). He was the youngest son of four siblings, one older brother "Ging Shang Ngan" (predeceased) and two older sisters "King So Ngan" (predeceased) and "King Kam Eng" (predeceased).
He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Sui Ling "Christine" (predeceased) and a devoted, loving father to Lisa "Sei-Man" (Kevin) and Eva "Man Yee"(Jason).
Tony was a proud "Gong Gong" to his granddaughters, Chelsea Madalynn "Wing Yun", Jacalyn Mackenzie "Wing Sum" and Olivia Rose "Ming Lai". He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews residing in Canada, Brazil, USA, Hong Kong and China. He loved his extended family and circle of close friends.
Tony was born on July 24th, 1935, in Taishan, Guangdong, China. In 1949, he moved away from China and lived in Vietnam and Sao Paolo, Brazil before immigrating and settling in Windsor, Canada to be with his sister, King Kam Eng (predeceased) and her family.
In 1970, he officially immigrated to Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and eventually moved to Toronto in 1980, where he built a life rooted in family, Chinese culture, and hard work.
Tony always felt proud of being a Canadian and always immersed himself into the Canadian way of life. From celebrating and honoring the traditional holidays such as, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter and Christmas to enjoying the Victoria Day long weekend. He always made sure that his children followed these Canadian traditions and values as a true Canadian citizen.
He was a hard-working master chef, recognized by the Ontario Chinese Restaurant Association from 1984, but always had the time to be a dad and caregiver for our family. His door and home were always open to help our aunts, grandparents and friends.
His heart belonged to his Chinese culture, and he cherished being with family and close friends, keeping his Chinese family roots alive through our generations. Tony's devotion to family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Tony always took time for his daughters to be there to teach and mentor them. We will always remember him for being there to cook or bake and to care for us.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, social workers, and staff at the Markham Stouffville Hospital for their compassionate care and support over the years.
