Ceta Kathleen Chang passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, at the age of 99, with loving family by her side.

Born in Jamaica, she lived a life marked by extraordinary courage, creativity, resilience, and unwavering faith. More than 50 years ago, driven by a fearless spirit and determination to create a better future, Ceta made the brave journey to Canada with her two young children. Through hard work, perseverance, and grace, she built a life rooted in family, community, and service.

In Toronto, Ceta became a beloved and active member of the Anglican Church of St. Paul, L'Amoreaux. Her faith was expressed through action and compassion. She volunteered faithfully in the church kitchen, readily stepped forward wherever help was needed, and regularly visited and comforted elderly members of the community. Her quiet acts of kindness touched many lives.

For the last 14 years of her life, Ceta made her home at Shepherd Village. True to her servant's heart, she continued caring for others as a resident of Shepherd Lodge. Until just a few years ago, she remained devoted to helping and looking out for fellow residents, offering assistance and companionship to those who were more frail and vulnerable.

Ceta will be deeply missed by her two devoted children, Jacqueline and Wayne, who will forever cherish her warmth, wisdom, strength, and unconditional love. Her legacy of faith, generosity, and selfless service will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A Funeral Service celebrating Ceta's life will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the Anglican Church of St. Paul, L'Amoreaux (corner of Warden Avenue and Finch Avenue East). Interment in the church cemetery and a reception in the church hall will follow immediately afterward.
