Casimir (“Cas”) will be deeply missed by his loving family and all who knew him. He always looked forward to time spent with his grandchildren: Jonathan (Samantha), Elizabeth (Brendan), Melissa (Patrick), Lauren, and Caitlin. His great-grandchildren—Maxwell, Finn, and Jack—were at the centre of many of his thoughts and dreams. His sons, Steve (Genny) and Shawn (Jenn), were cherished and essential parts of his life.

Casimir was predeceased by his beloved Irene. He missed her dearly and longed to be with her again.

Cas was known for speaking his mind openly and honestly. He held little back, and if you were willing to listen, he was always ready to share his thoughts. He had a strong presence and a generous spirit, often filling a room with conversation and perspective.

He took immense pride in his home and surroundings. His grass and gardens were never left untended or uncared for—even when he wasn’t feeling his best. A natural gardener, Cas grew an abundance of produce, which he happily shared with family, friends, and neighbours. He was a leader and a guardian within his family and community—someone others looked to and relied upon.

Cas was socially engaged and community-minded. He served as a union steward, contributed actively to his political party, and held a role as a director at the Fort York Credit Union. He believed in standing up for others and staying involved.

Above all else, family was everything to Cas. Anyone who knew him would agree. Cas’s presence, strength, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will be remembered always.

In honour of Cas, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 9th, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at St. Volodymyr Event Centre, 1280 Dundas St. West, Oakville, ON, L6M 4H9.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local food bank, ALS research, Diabetes Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
