Carlos C. Bayani, Jr was born in Manila, Philippines on 26 January 1948. He passed away peacefully on 04 December 2025 in Toronto, Ontario. He was the youngest in his family of three children.
Sonny, as he was fondly remembered to his family and friends, is survived by his loving wife Della (Rayala) and his son, Jonathan. He and Della were married on 11 October 1969and had just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this year.
He is also loved and remembered by his sister, Vanity Bayani Emery, nieces Jane Bayani, Jennifer Bayani and Janice Bayani and their respective families, all his relatives and friends.
As a young man, he had always been adventurous and curious. When his father bought a right-hand drive Mitsubishi, he decided to take ownership of it. As with most other countries, cars in the Philippines were left-hand drive, so driving on the wrong side of the road was both nerve-wracking and dangerous but he mastered it to the delight of his friends and the dismay of his family.
When he had the opportunity to do so, he joined his sister in Toronto, Canada. There he met Della Rayala and married a year later. Thus started their lifelong journey together, Jonathan was born in October of 1971, and their life as a family began.
He was devoted to his family and enjoyed an active life. He loved being with his family, relatives and close friends. He enjoyed day trips, trips abroad, social gatherings, and a quiet dinner for two – once in a while.
His computer knowledge helped him in his work as an accountant. He relished working on computers.
He had a “green thumb” and shows his passion by creating a mini garden in their den – including succulent plants, orchids, bougainvillea, and others.
Carlos was a vibrant, happy, loyal and dedicated man who will be deeply missed by his family, relatives, friends, and all those who knew him.
