Brian Ernest Sidney Tapner passed away, peacefully on August 6, 2026 with his beloved wife and partner of 49 years, Anne, by his side.

He was predeceased by his son Ian (1997). He leaves behind his daughters Rhonda and Elaine and grandchildren, Blair, Aubrey, Paige, Sean and Rheanna. Also missing him are his great grandchildren, Nayeli, Nova, Nixie, Amara, Liana, Creo and Poppy. He will be greatly missed by his fur baby, Lola, but will be welcomed in heaven by Dak and Minnie.

Brian will be missed by his UK family Ken Burnett, his son Michael (Sohee) and their sons, Noah and Joel.

He will be missed by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Linda and Frank, his nephew Sean (Vicky) and their kids Skylar and Lexi and his niece Dana (Jay) and Reese.

Brian came to Canada in 1956 from Brighton, England and settled in GTA. He worked in construction his entire career and enjoyed every aspect of this field, broadening his expertise and knowledge.

Brian and Anne enjoyed travelling the world and had a great fondness for their home in Lakeland Florida. They made many friends at Sanlan and enjoyed years of great times away from the cold winters.

Brian’s love for boating was well known among family and friends. He was at his happiest on the water and he and Anne had a memorable trip to Florida on their boat for a year. It was a lifetime boating goal of his and he was able check it off his “bucket list”.

Brian will be missed terribly, but for those of us who were fortunate to have had him in our lives, we will have wonderful memories to comfort us.
