Brian Couvier passed away suddenly on January 19th, 2026, at the age of 62 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. He will be remembered for his deep love of family, friends, animals and the outdoors—especially winter, his favourite season. Brian Couvier passed away on January 19, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, George Couvier and is survived by his loving mother, Victoria Oke and his sister, Lindsay Couvier. He will be dearly missed by extended family members and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Brian’s laugh was contagious; if he was laughing, everyone around him was laughing too. He carried a youthful spirit throughout his life, always acting like a kid at heart bringing his humour and fun wherever he went. An auto mechanic by trade, Brian loved pushing the limits—lowering trucks with his creation of Lowdown Automotive, customizing vehicles, and finding ways to make everything go faster. His skill and passion were admired by many. Most recently, Brian spent many years alongside friends and colleagues as an integral part of operations working at Brimacombe Ski Hill with his little sidekick CJ, the corgi.
Brian adored spending time with family and friends and was always grateful for each moment spent making memories with those closest to him. His presence will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on April 25th, 2026 at Brimacombe Ski Resort in Orono, Ontario from 1pm-4pm. Those wishing to share their memories, favourite stories or pictures are invited to do so by emailing remembering.briancouvier@gmail.com.
Brian’s laughter, passion, and love of life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Your prayers are deeply appreciated.
