In memory of

Brenda Joan Dutton

March 11, 1943 - January 29, 2026

It is with overwhelming heartbreak that her family announce the sudden passing of Brenda Joan Dutton (née Marshall) just a few weeks shy of her 83rd birthday. Brenda and her late husband Arthur (d. October 2019) were married 57 years. This devoted mother and nanny will be forever lovingly remembered by her children Deborah (Scott), Lisa (Frank), and Darren (Pia) and the 6 grandchildren she adored, Jordan, Emma, Katie, Victoria, Charlie, and Erika.

Brenda was born in 1943 to James and Constance Marshall in London, England. She was a proud British girl who excelled in sports and loved fashion and music. After meeting Arthur Dutton at one of London’s dance clubs in the early sixties they courted, married, and started a family in Colchester, England. In 1974, they emigrated to Don Mills with their two daughters to give their children all the opportunities and experiences Canada had to offer. Two years later they welcomed their third baby, a son. Brenda was overjoyed when her beloved mother, Connie, older brother, Ron, and sister-in-law, Valerie, gathered their family and followed the Duttons to Canada in 1975. Under her care, her family thrived, and they will forever be grateful for all their parents’ guidance and sacrifices.

Brenda loved her beautiful puppies, most recently Lucy, who misses her so much. Brenda was a devoted and loving mother for 62 years, and grandmother for 30, and enjoyed nothing more than seeing her children, and then grandchildren grow and excel. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
