BILLS, Brenda Mary (nee-Rogers) Passed away peacefully with family by her side at St. Luke’s Place, Cambridge, Ontario on Saturday October 18th, 2025, just nine days short of her 98th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Eric Bills. Devoted and loving mother to Cynthia Wells (Jeff), Deborah Cowan (Rick) and Carolyn Bills. Proud Grandmother to Regan, Brandon (Beckie), Kyrsten, Tyler, Denver (Cara), Alanna (Jeremy) and Kelsey (Paul). Cherished Great-Grandma to Morley, Avery, Cole and Henri. Predeceased by her brother Roy Rogers, and her sister Jean Sanderson. Born in Keene, Ontario, at a young age Brenda moved with her family to Peterborough where she lived the majority of her life. It was after her move to Peterborough, where at Park St. Baptist Church, she met her husband of 44 years, Eric. In July 2015, she then re-located to a retirement home in Kitchener in order to be closer to family as she aged. Brenda was a devout Christian and a long-time member of the church. There she assumed numerous roles as Treasurer of the Shirley Knight Women’s Mission Circle, Sunday School teacher for the younger aged children, as well as a helper in the church nursery, as she was always so fond of little ones. As a young woman, Brenda worked in administration for the Sun Life Insurance Company until she and Eric were married, after which she turned her focus to her family. In the mid-1970s, Brenda returned to the workforce taking a position in Financial Aid at Sir Sandford Fleming College until she retired in 1990. Brenda always had a passion for travel and adventure, and together with Eric, they explored the British Isles, New Zealand and Hawaii, as well as extensively throughout North America. Brenda was a voracious reader from a very young age, and particularly loved the classics by Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters. When she wasn’t reading, she loved immersing herself in her crossword and jigsaw puzzles; something she continued even into her later years. Brenda also enjoyed keeping up with current affairs and loved to listen to CBC radio, as well as being an enthusiastic follower of Agatha Christie’s Detective Poirot series. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and caring staff at St. Luke’s Place LTC facility. Brenda had chosen cremation, and a celebration of life will take place in the new year at a date to be determined when all family members can be available, followed by a private family interment service. Let us remember Brenda with joy, laughter and everlasting love. In memory of Brenda, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
